Our Donors come from many backgrounds

• Local food businesses sometimes donate a variety of items ranging from bread products to food items listed on the regular needs list.
• Other commercial businesses and professionals, not in the food industry either periodically provide donations or underwrite special programs for the Food Pantry.
• Some stores provide bins where individuals can leave food donations, they sometimes run campaigns to raise Food Pantry funds, and donate special needs, from foodstuffs to freezer space.
• Individuals donate food items and collect cans and bottles, recycle these and donate the money to the pantry. In addition, many make periodic monetary donations as well.
• Organizations in the community sponsor food and financial drives and run activities to help the Food Pantry with costs such as food, rent, maintenance, utilities, and the like.

The Sandwich Food Pantry thanks all donors, for your help makes our objectives become a reality.

The Sandwich Food Pantry has been servicing residents of Sandwich and local boundary communities since 1985. No matter how good the economy may be there are always some among us who are struggling, due to the unique situation they are currently facing.

• They may be working and trying to provide for a family on a minimum or near minimum income.
• They may be temporarily injured or disabled and presently unable to work.
• They may be temporarily unemployed due to company buyouts, mergers, bankruptcies or the like.
• They may be senior citizens struggling on a fixed income.

The problem, in each case, is that the basic services they may be eligible for need to be supplemented for a period.

The Sandwich Food Pantry's goal is to help these people through difficult times by providing supplemental food, advice and directions to further sources of help.

In order to achieve these goals the Sandwich Food Pantry relies on a variety of resources, volunteers and donations, and provides services to more clients than people realize. 100% of donations are used to support the Food Pantry and our clients.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is comprised of a dozen individuals representing community churches, businesses, organizations and the community at large. They are invited to join the board after being recommended and voted on by the board. This ensures a well-rounded and experienced leadership to guarantee continuity and good stewardship. The Food Pantry Executive Director is a volunteer as are all board and staff members. The Board of Directors is the liaison between those in need and the resources of the community.
